| YOU ARE THE TARGET BIG TOBACCO: LIES,SCAMS - NOW THE TRUTH PROJECT MOVING TARGETŪ YOUTH TOBACCO AWARENESS COMPANION CLASSROOM CURRICULUM by Georgina Lovell |
LETTERS! WE GOT LETTERS! Because of you I have quit smoking and I'm getting my teeth whitened and making myself healthy again. It's been pretty hard but I'll try my hardest. You totally convinced me to just stop smoking. Wish me luck. I started smoking when I was 9. I smoked until I was 12. I quit for two years and started again. I wish I could quit. I would like to thank you for coming and talking to our school. When I listened to you, you changed my way of looking at smoking. Before I thought it was just a bad habit but now I know that it is targeting the younger generation on purpose. I think they should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing, and I'm a smoker. The information you gave us on "Project Scum" by the tobacco company really made me think. It really had an impact on me. Thank you for telling us that the tobacco industry thinks we are all fools. I don't smoke and I am never going to start. I think the talk you gave us was very interesting and the people who work for the cigarette companies and what they think of smokers. Your talk influenced me to set a date to quit smoking. I think it is cool the way you found out so much information and you don't even smoke. Thanks. What you spoke about worried me. My sister smokes and has tried to quit, as well my friends smoke. It bothers me. Thank you for coming to see us and increase our knowledge of the smoking industry. Thank you for coming to our school and telling me about the tobacco companies. I really disliked that bottle of tar. Gross. I used to smoke for four years and I realized I was always short of breath, I stank, and whenever I would get sick it would be three times worse than normal. As I was saying, thank you for showing and helping us to understand a bit more about the tobacco industry. I know I haven't smoked in 5 months. I can really see a difference in my performance in sports and I also have a lot more money to spend. After you spoke to our class it helped me realize what the tobacco industry really thinks of us smokers. It also disgusted me to see that jar of tar. Now hopefully I can quit easier. The presentation you did in our class was really shocking to me. I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know before and I'm trying to quit smoking now. I would just like to say that after listening to your talk to our class it really made me think about stopping smoking. It will be hard but if quitting will help stop paying for the tobacco companies to keep doing what they've done and help younger children like my little brother not to start then I am all for it. THANK YOU. It was very nice of you to talk to our class about what the tobacco companies put in their cigarettes. I would like to say one thing about the people in the tobacco industry and it is they are a bunch of ******** with no right to do what they're doing. Thanks for coming. It did make me want to quit, but it's not easy to quit. I know I will. I will just need some time. I hope your book helps everyone to stop smoking. First off I don't smoke and when I think of the frustration I have when I smell smoke on my sister and my mom I feel helpless. Because of secondhand smoke I am getting a headache. I can reassure you of one thing, my friends don't smoke and I don't ever plan to smoke cigarettes. |
